Hinge Alley privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026.
Hinge Alley is an arcade alley roller made by CR Industries LLC. This page says what the game collects, who else collects something while you play, and what you can choose.
What Hinge Alley collects
Nothing, of its own. There is no Hinge Alley account to create, nothing to sign in to, and no server of ours that the game talks to. The only thing that reaches us is an email you choose to send (see When you email us). Your settings, your best scores and records, the names you type for Pass & Play, a frame you leave in the middle, and the counters that space out the adverts are all kept on your phone, and they go when you delete the game.
Apple's services
Game Center is optional. If you are signed in to it, your scores and your progress towards the achievements go to Apple, not to us, so they can appear on the leaderboards and in Game Center. Pass & Play matches are never posted, and a frame extended with "+3 balls" never reaches a leaderboard. Apple's privacy policy governs Game Center, and you can manage or remove that data in Apple's Game Center settings.
Purchases are handled by Apple. When you buy or restore Remove Ads, Apple takes the payment; the game only asks Apple, on your phone, whether Remove Ads is yours. We never see your payment details.
Advertising
Advertising is what keeps the game free, and it comes from one company: Google, through AdMob. Google's software in the game collects:
- A device identifier, used to count how often an advert has been shown, to measure adverts and to detect fraud. Apple's advertising identifier is shared only if you allow tracking (see below).
- Approximate location, worked out from your internet address, at about the level of a city or region. Never your precise location.
- How you interact with adverts: that one was shown, and whether it was tapped or watched.
- Advertising data, such as which adverts you have seen.
- Diagnostics, such as a record of a crash or of how fast an advert loaded.
Where the adverts appear: a banner under the main menu and the results, never during a frame; a full screen advert when a finished frame reaches its results, at most every third finished frame, at least 90 seconds after the last one, never in the first session after you install the game, and never in the middle of a Pass & Play game; and an optional video you can choose to watch for three more balls, offered at the end of some Classic and Daily Alley frames. Nothing in the game requires you to watch anything.
Google's privacy policy governs what Google does with this data: https://policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
What you can choose
Adverts chosen for you. After your first finished frame, the results screen shows a card titled "Free to play, paid for by ads". Tap Continue and iOS asks whether Hinge Alley may track you. If you allow it, Google may use Apple's advertising identifier to choose adverts for you. If you do not, you still get the whole game and every reward, and the adverts are not chosen using that identifier. You can change your answer at any time in your phone's Settings, under Privacy & Security, Tracking.
The Personalised ads switch, in the game's Settings under Ads, turns adverts chosen for you off, from then on, whatever your other answers.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice before any advert is requested, and Settings, Ads, Privacy options lets you change it. If you decline there, the game never asks iOS about tracking. In the American states with their own privacy laws, Google's consent software may show the same Privacy options row, and where it does, that is where you opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Wherever you live, the Personalised ads switch above and your phone's Tracking setting are always there. Saying no costs you nothing: the game is the same either way.
Remove Ads is one purchase that removes banner and interstitial adverts, not optional reward videos. Because the "+3 balls" video is still there for anyone who chooses to watch it, Google's advertising software still starts, and the consent form, the tracking question and the switches above work just as they did before. If the purchase is refunded, the banner and the full screen adverts come back.
Report an ad. If you see an advert that should not be there, Settings, Ads, Report an ad tells you how to send it to us, and we can block that advertiser for everyone playing.
When you email us
If you write to us, from this site, from Settings, About, Email support, or from Settings, Ads, Report an ad, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach, such as a screenshot of an advert. We use them only to answer you and, for a reported advert, to block that advertiser. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share what you send. We delete it once it has been dealt with, or sooner if you ask.
Sharing a score
The Share button on the results screen makes a picture of your score on your phone and hands it to the iOS share sheet. It goes only where you send it, with the names you typed if it was a Pass & Play game.
Children
Hinge Alley is not directed at children under 13, is not in the Kids category, and does not knowingly collect information from children. The adverts are limited to Google's general audiences rating.
Keeping and deleting
The game sends us nothing, so we keep nothing from it. An email you send us is kept only until it has been dealt with, as above. Everything the game keeps is on your phone and is removed when you delete the game. Your Game Center scores and achievements belong to your Game Center account with Apple, so they stay after the game is deleted. What Google keeps is governed by Google's policies.
Changes
If what the game collects changes, this page changes before the update that changes it ships, with a new date at the top.
